My 2016 Beauty Favorites

This past year I have discovered some new beauty favorites as well as rediscovered some old ones. I enjoy trying different things and seeing what works best for me. I can say that all of these beauty favorites from 2016 will definitely be staple products for years to come!

I wore both the Lacoste perfume in Sparkling and MAC’s cremesheen in Delight  on my wedding day this past summer. The Sparkling scent is so light and feminine. It is the perfect scent. If you are looking for something girly and sweet this is the scent for you! Speaking of sweet MAC’s vanilla scented cremesheen Delight is amazing when paired with their cremesheen lipstick Cream Cup. For me, this combination looks like my lips but better and can be worn with ANYTHING! These are a must haves in my book. Another favorite lipstick and gloss combination I discovered during the winter season was the Buxom full-on lipstick in Sydney and the full-on lip creme in White Russian. There is a tingle that encourages plumping and will last all day. So if you do not like that then this is not the lip combo for you. However, I feel that the tingle is completely worth it for the pigmentation and shine that these products provide. Along with the other products pictured above is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. This mascara does it all it is volumizing, lengthening, and thickening. I am naturally blessed in the lash department so this mascara makes my lashes look almost like falsies. If you are not as lucky no worries this mascara will still work wonders!

Now I may be a little late to this party but if you are like me and haven’t tried Deborah Lippman’s Nail Color yet don’t wait any longer! This nail polish is one of the best I have tried in a long time. This polish includes biotin and claims to be beneficial for your nails. This polish has lasted up to at least 7 days on my nails, has lasting shine, and is impossible to chip.

NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette, Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold, and Bobbi Brown Bronze Eye Palette

If you are looking for an affordable contour and highlight palette then the one by NYX is more than worth what it retails for in drugstores. It has lasted all year, the pigmentation is amazing, and the shades are great for all skin tones! The lightest tap in one of their contour shades goes a long way.

I purchased the Bobbi Brown Bronze eye shadow palette on vacation in August and have been using it almost everyday. I am still using it now in the winter. The matte shade Toast is a great base shade and pairs well with the other three shades (Rich Bronze, Gold, and Amber). All four shades can be worn everyday with pretty much anything. Who says you can’t be bronzed in the winter?!

With Makeup Revolution being one of the newer brands that I discovered at Ulta this year, you can probably tell (by the cracked blush in upper left hand corner) that I love this palette as well. Unfortunately for me the shade that cracked was one of my favorites (which is why I chose to hold onto it remains). This palette is easy to use and has beautiful warm golden and rose gold blushes and highlights.

Lastly, on my list I have my favorite hair products. Now I have been using these products for longer than a year. They have truly made a difference in the way my hair looks, feels, and smells. Both lines smell great! I use the complete system of the Carol’s Daughter Lisa’s Hair Elixir. This includes the scalp fortifying scalp spray, restoring hair oil, the shampoo, and conditioner. These products make my hair feel so soft and manageable that I don’t even need to use a comb to detangle. I can use just my fingers! My hair feels great from the moment I put shampoo on in the shower until my hair is dry and styled and for the following days. I also use the complete line of the Moroccan Oil system. The hydrating shampoo, moisture repair conditioner, intense hydrating mask, and the morrocan oil treatment. The smell of the Moroccan Oil line is heavenly! I NEVER get tired of the smell. I alternate each line every other week.

I know that was a little lengthy but 2016 was a loooonnnngggg year. I had a great 2016 and hope to have an even better 2017!
