Now, even though I am not giving up on summer yet, I know that there are many of you that are ready for the styles, comforts, and cooler temps of the fall season. So I thought I would compromise. I have seen and read articles before that have talked about wearing shorts with tights underneath or winter boots with a tank top. Now I don’t know about you but these don’t make sense to me. However, if this is the way that you get down by all means don’t let my opinions bother you. You like it, I love it! But I do have some suggestions about summer pieces that are a little more realistic when transitioning from summer into fall.

Over the years I have come up with some common pieces that can be staples when transitioning. I am wearing them in this post. Tank tops, Jeans, sandals, and a few other pieces can all be worn in slightly cooler temps. Of course what pieces you choose will be determined based on what you feel the most comfortable wearing and what body parts tend to stay warmer than others.

These pieces below can all be combined to help with the transition from summer to fall.

cotton tanks → satin or sweater tank tops

Sandals → slides, mules, flats

satin scarf → cotton or wool scarf

light denim → dark denim

t-shirt → long sleeve shirt

denim jacket → suede moto jacket, duster jacket

These suggestions are to help keep you warm. Layering is KEY! I love the idea of a satin tank in the fall and light denim all year round. But you won’t find a sandal in my closet in November. Again, you have to choose what works for you and staying warm is at the top of my list.

What other things transition from summer to fall in your home besides clothing? In my house it is usually tv shows, my favorite foods, and candles. 🙂

See you Wednesday!

  1. Fall candles are my definite sign it’s fall. I also love to add a few decorations in fall colors. Love this smart transition post, Noelle!
