IT IS FRIDAY! Its kinda been a long week. As a teacher when you have a few short weeks in a row and then a full week you don’t know what to do with yourself. lol! It’s really ok because next week is another 4 day week! 😉 Ok ok enough about my life lets get to the matter at hand.
Over the last couple of years monochromatic looks have been seen EVERYWHERE! Initially I was not a fan. It was giving me major matchy matchy vibes and I just wanted to give everyone another color top or pant to break up their look. However, it has grown on me. I love how sleek and classic is looks with the right pieces. Here are three ways that I like to wear this style.
TEXTURED – I still like to make the style my own and break the look up using different textures. I don’t know about you but I always look twice when I see texture in an outfit. I especially love adding textures to my outfits during the fall and winter seasons. This is when I tend to wear monochromatic styles the most. A fur vest or wool hat are the Perfect finishing touch!
MAKEUP – Another way to add a little flare to your monochromatic look is to incorporate your makeup. This can be fun and challenging at the same time. If you are a bit of a perfectionist like me when it comes to the right shade then sometimes trying to find the perfect shadow or lip color to pair with your monochromatic look can be a pain. But I will say when you do find the perfect shade it is the BEST feeling! Be inspired to play with your makeup. The best way to incorporate makeup is to find a shades that compliment each other instead of focusing on being “matchy matchy.” It will make getting ready 10 times easier.
ACCESSORIES – The final way that you can complete a monochromatic look is by including your accessories. There is a fine line when it comes to jewelry. I tend to stay away from anything that appears too inexpensive. This doesn’t mean that it wasn’t inexpensive it just doesn’t look like it is. You don’t want to affect the tone of your look. I would go for gem stones or metallics like gold, silver, or rose gold in a monochromatic outfit to strengthen the look.
How do you feel about monochrome? Yah or nah? Check out how I style a few monochromatic looks here on my blog this month!
Enjoy the weekend! Its supposed to be beautiful 🙂
