Its Monday, that means time to start thinking about what you have planned for the week. When I think about what I have going on at work or with friends determines what I’m going to wear that day. What is a huge time saver for me is to start thinking about what I’m going to wear the night before. If I try to think about what I should wear in the morning one of two things will happen 1. a “go to” outfit that I have worn a million times before and requires no thought (To be honest there is nothing wrong with this option at all!) or 2. me wasting time and on the verge of thinking “how important is this meeting?” HA! Soooo since number two is usually not an option and number one can be boring this brings me to the topic of this post which is basics.

Solid basics can go a long way. Essentially its the pieces that make up a good “go to” outfit but are also versatile enough to be used as a starting piece for any other look you want to wear. When choosing basic you want to choose quality and classic pieces. This allows your wardrobe to withstand trends and everyday wear.

Neutrals are your friend. I love the traditional black and white that look great with everything. For me light colored denim is a staple in my closet. I also love the that nudes, pinks, greys, and olive tones are considered neutrals as well.

So there you have it, how to navigate the basics.

Happy Monday!
