Good Morning Everyone! This post is going to be a little more casual in the sense that I’m taking you to the mall with me. I am feeling very motivated which can be a challenge on Monday and to be honest is a lot easier to do when your on break for the summer. I’m riding the wave of motivation for now and I love it!

With it being “sale season” right now during the summer it can be super hard. Because if you’re like me you want a little bit of EVERYTHING πŸ˜‰ and if you’re also like me you cannot afford to buy everything. Soooo . . . Β I have a few tips on how to get the “want” out of your system and how to stick to buying what you really need. Lets go!

  1. TIME – Time sounds strange but it is honestly a game changer. If you have the option to go to the mall during the morning or an early day during the week you will find that you feel at ease. When shopping on the weekend stores are crowded, lines are long, and you end up spending more time in a store than necessary. When I’m in a store too long then I start looking at any and everything. Then I buy things I don’t need/ end up returning them at a later date. To avoid this altogether, go early, relax, and take your time. πŸ™‚
  2. LIST – Keep a running list of things that you need for your closet and trends that you would like to try. If you end up with an item that is on both lists then feel to buy it. No guilt necessary. However, if it isn’t on both lists buy the items you need first and then buy the trendy items if you have left over time and cash.
  3. SHOP WITH A FRIEND – I’m sure most of us do this anyways but this really does help. If you shop with a friend who says yes to everything it could work in your favor. If they say yes to everything then it will force you to stop and reeaalllyyy think about what items you really like because you should not buy everything in your hand. (you know I’m right) Also if you shop with someone who has a different style than yours then it will make you think about why you really like a certain piece of clothing and you can explain to them or yourself why you think you need it. So either way this person is requiring you to think about how you are spending your money. Get it? πŸ™‚




  1. FOOD – Finally food! Stop and grab a quick bite with a friend. Its fun to get out and talk. Then when you’re done you may not want to stay too much longer at the mall or you may not even want to shop. You have to eat but you may not need another pair of $60 jeans. πŸ˜‰
