Morning! Today I thought it would be fun to talk about things that I have been eating all summer long. Summer is the best time to eat the best food. I love going to festivals and fairs and eating hot dogs, burgers, funnel cakes, elephant ears, fries, and drinking lemonade. I dream of it all spring lol!
As you can see the name of this post says meal plan but I don’t plan everything I eat. Sometimes you just don’t know what your going to eat and life just happens. However, I do try to keep things pretty clean during the week because the weekends are meant to be fun! So to ensure that I feel my best I try to eat the best way that I can about 80% of the time. The other 20 . . . I just live my best life. 😉
Almond toast sprinkled with oats, blue berries, honey, and a peach
* I usually eat breakfast after a workout. I’m not a huge breakfast person early in the morning but I try to eat after I’m done working out to refuel my body. I like to try and combine proteins and carbs for breakfast. So here I have almond butter for protein and blueberries for carbs. Another one I eat often is Greek Yogurt (protein) w/ oats, blueberries (carbs), and a peach.
1- Warm Asian Glazed Chicken Salad
2- Shrimp Taco w/ Chips and Salsa
* I stick with chicken and turkey around lunch time.
1- Honey Chipotle Salmon w/ Mixed Greens, Apricot, Blueberries, Sunflower Seeds and Homemade Salad Dressing
2- Cedar Planked Salmon w/ Rosemary Potatoes, and Roasted Veggies
* For dinner I have salmon most nights. I don’t really get tired of it but if you do or don’t like fish mix it up. And I always try to incorporate greens with my dinner.
So there it is my summer foods in a nut shell. The important things to note about eating healthy is you don’t have to starve yourself, find what you enjoy, and you can still eat the unhealthy foods you enjoy in moderation. Nothing stops me from eating ice cream almost every night in the summer 🙂
See you Friday!
